Lost Gold Bracelet Found under Boat Dock

[July 11, 2019 – Ft. Myers] While helping to secure a boat cover, a rope caught on Wilma’s gold bracelet tugging it off her wrist and into the water adjacent the dock.  Her husband also heard it go “kerplunk” on the dock and splash as it disappeared into the murky water.   Remember, “It’s only lost until you call!”

You’ve probably heard the statement “don’t try this at home”….well, getting into the water without stirring up the mud, getting cut by the barnacles or oyster shells,  or “ringing the dinner” bell by needless splashing were just some of the first obstacles.  Water turbidity and clarity was poor at best, and the tide made it difficult to remain in place.  Standing on nearly 2 feet of soft mud in nearly 5 feet of water, the search began – listening to all the miscellaneous sounds given off by the rusty iron, fishing tackle, weights and miscellaneous metal trash.  But, it was the recovery that turned out to be most challenging.    It took nearly 2 hours to get the target into the scoop.  Well, the rest is now history and the story continues – the bracelet being where it belongs, back on Wilma’s wrist.  Thanks be to God!
